Police Chief’s Report
Chief Havas reported the West Hills Police Department participated in the Westmont Borough Memorial Day Program. Chief Havas noted various walks and runs have taken place in the West Hills area recently and on-duty officers have assisted the sponsors with traffic control and safety concerns for these activities.
Fire Company’s Report
Chief Leckey absent. The Hilltop Ambulance Report was received and is on file.
Engineer’s Report
Mr. Wargo reported the State
Street Project is scheduled to begin
Zoning Officer’s Report
Mr. Wargo reported five Building
Permits issued and four approved Sewer Compliances. Mr. Wargo stated
information required to obtain
Mayor’s Report
Nothing to report.
Manager’s Report
Mr. Wargo reported an inspection of the levee has been completed and went well. Mr. Wargo stated the Stoneycreek Watershed Ordinance mandated by the Department of Environmental Protection is being reviewed by Solicitor Lovette. A motion was made by Mr. Pile to continue the Stoneycreek Stormwater Management Plan. Motion seconded by Mr. Danyluk. All in favor, motion carried. Mr. Wargo reported the Harding Street Steps Grant has been completely closed out.

Secretary’s Report
Ms. Czyrnik reported the
Department of Labor and Industry will be closing out a workers compensation
claim for Mr. Roy Livingston from a 1994 injury. A motion was made by Mr. Pile
to approve Mr. Wargo and Mr. Jan Bosley’s attendance at a free Penn DOT Storm
Water Management workshop on
1) COMMITTEE REPORTS
A. Streets: Nothing to report.
B. Administration: Nothing to report.
C. Personnel: Mr. Strittmatter absent. Nothing to report.
D. Police Committee: Nothing to report.
E. Budget & Tax Collection Committee: Nothing to report.
F. Shade Tree Committee: Mr. Morgan reported he is updating a tree inventory form. Mr. Morgan stated he would like to inventory all trees in Southmont Borough to keep track of trees being planted and removed.
G. Recreation Committee: Mr. Kory absent. Mr. Ewald reported roofing is being replaced at the Ridge pavilion. Mr. Ewald stated fireplaces at the Ridge are in deplorable conditions noting the Recreation Commission would like to request each municipality take on one fireplace to repair. Mr. Wargo will follow up with Mr. Ewald.
H. Buildings & Grounds Committee: Mr. Kory absent. Mr. Wargo
reported the bird sanctuary fence is ongoing and a grant is being filed for the
costs.
I. COG Report: Mr. Wargo reported COG will begin reflectivity testing for street signs noting the new required street signs will be installed as the old ones are replaced.
J. Greater Johnstown Water Authority: Mr. Pile reported the inter-connection with
Ligonier is ongoing and the next meeting is June 22.
K. Open Records: Mr. Kory absent. One open records request was
received for Ordinance Number 460 regarding animal nuisance.
