Herb Ewald 2006 – Present
Herb Ewald was raised in Upper
Yoder Township
and graduated from Westmont Upper
Yoder High School.
Mr. Ewald married Judy Blough and moved to Southmont where they have resided
for the past 42 years. He and his wife have two sons, Brian and Brad, and four
granddaughters who all reside in the Richmond, Virginia
area. Mr. Ewald was employed by Bethlehem Steel Company for 20 years and
retired from Suppes Motor Sales Company as a service advisor after 20 years of
service. During his active years with the department, he served in various
offices and was fire chief for five years. Mr. Ewald is an active volunteer
during the Southmont Fire Company Jubilee to help raise much needed funds to
provide fire protection for the Borough. He also volunteers with Habitat for
Humanity helping to build several homes. Mr. Ewald is presently active with the
Western Pennsylvania
District Church
of the Bretheran Disaster Ministries serving as volunteer co-coordinator. He
enjoys working with iron and steel, gardening and flying radio controlled model
airplanes in his spare time.
